Dr Prakriti Gupta-Stelk

Experience

Dr Prakriti Gupta-Stelk has over 10 years academic and clinical experience in the field of psychology. Over the years she has had the opportunity to train and practice in multiple countries. This enables her to use her multicultural perspective within her therapeutic practice. She is fluent in English, Hindi and Urdu and is comfortable providing therapy in all languages.

Prior to training Dr Gupta-Stelk specialised in and still has a passion for working with children with ASD, ADHD, Learning difficulties and other mental health problems. She also helps support families pre and post diagnosis and is competent in creating social stories for friends and siblings. She also has extensive experience working adults. Within her practice she uses a range of therapeutic models, integrating thinking from- systemic therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and compatible approaches. She has experience supporting people with a range of psychological difficulties such as anxiety, OCD, low mood, stress, burnout, Autism, ADHD, anger management, chronic pain and psychosis.
 

Aside from 1-2-1 therapies Dr Gupta-Stelk has also developed and lead resilience, stress and burnout, sleep, worry, e-resilience, and low mood workshops and 1-2-1 clinics for TFL and Greater London Authorities. She also co-developed parent training workshops and resources for parents of children with Autism/ADHD co morbid with mood disorders.
 

Dr Gupta-Stelk wrote her doctoral dissertation on the experiences of autistic young people using social media to help inform clinical practice.
 

In her free time, she enjoys baking and cooking (blogging her recipes) in a psychologically informed way, using in mindfulness and fresh ingredients. She also uses her time mentoring aspiring international trainees who wish to come study in the UK. Though when not on in the kitchen or her computer, she can be found walking around London with a dog or two in tow.

Qualifications

Dr Gupta-Stelk has holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from UCL. She is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with The Health Care Professional Council (HCPC), which monitors and regulates the practice of Clinical Psychologists.

Dr Gupta-Stelk has provisional accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and Level 1 certification with the Association of Family Therapists and Systemic Practice (AFT).
