Experience

Sin Ting has 4 years of work experience in educational and clinical psychology. She uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and third-wave CBT approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). In her work, Sin Ting also draws on a Kleinian psychoanalytic approach.

Coming from Hong Kong, she is aware of the language, cultural and systemic influences on individuals. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
 

Sin Ting has worked in NHS adult mental health teams, a neurodiversity team and a crisis team for children and young people. She is experienced in working with children and young people with ASD and/or ADHD traits. She has also worked with couples and families on interpersonal relationship difficulties, anxiety and trauma. Through her doctoral thesis, Sin Ting has developed a strong interest in devising and delivering trauma-informed interventions.
 

Sin Ting has run group workshops for parents and young people on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) emotional regulation and interpersonal skills and workshops for adults to learn about depression. She has also co-facilitated reflective practice groups for staff who work with homeless young people and offered psychological consultation to mutual aid groups during the pandemic.
 

When she is not in the office, you will find Sin Ting hiking in the mountains or relaxing near the sea.

Qualifications

Sin Ting is due to complete her doctorate in clinical psychology in Autumn 2022 (HCPC registration).
