Experience

Dr Aimee Hayes-Kemp is a Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of academic and clinical experience working within the NHS. She has experience of working with adults and adolescents using a range of therapeutic models, integrating thinking from: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Intensive Short-term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) approaches.

She has supported those experiencing a range of psychological difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. She also has expertise in working with people with long-term physical health conditions, including persistent pain, chronic fatigue, stroke and epilepsy.
 

Dr Aimee Hayes-Kemp bases her approach to therapy on the individual’s goals and wishes, alongside the evidence base. She views the therapeutic relationship as key within the work and she is committed to building a trusting, collaborative and supportive environment within therapy.

Dr Aimee Hayes-Kemp has an interest in work-related stress and burnout, which prompted her to complete her doctoral thesis on burnout within ambulance staff.

Qualifications

Dr Aimee Hayes-Kemp holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

She is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with The Health Care Professional Council​ (HCPC), which monitors and regulates the practice of Clinical Psychologists.
